Steve Narsutis

MANAGING DIRECTOR

As a senior executive with more than 25 years in the financial sector, Steve has extensive financial, operating and transaction experience.  During his career with several leading lending institutions, Steve had both managerial and hands on involvement in a wide array of different industries involving companies of all sizes – all with a heavy emphasis on companies experiencing distress.  This broad experience, coupled with extensive technical skill sets and ability to quickly size up a situation, make him well-suited to bring immediate and sustainable value to HMP clients.

Prior to joining HMP, Steve spent 4 years with Bridge Finance Group as Managing Director where he oversaw management of BFG’s trouble asset portfolio, served as the credit representative with respect to BFG’s minority investment in a commercial bank, and was in charge of BFG’s joint venture investment in a medical services company.

Before that, Steve spent 5 years at LaSalle Business Credit and Finova Capital Corporation as a Senior Vice President establishing a Workout Group and liquidating over $3 billion of lending products that included cash flow, asset-based, mezzanine, real estate, communication, M&E leases, rediscount, and franchise loans. He also spent four years at Heller Financial holding various credit positions, with his last assignment as the Team Leader of Workouts for the restructured Corporate Finance business unit.

Steve’s troubled loan activities include debt restructuring, out-of-court arrangements (Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors or Article 9 foreclosure sales), bankruptcy proceedings (confirmation of plans, conversions to chapter 7, conducting 363 sales) and asset liquidations.  In addition to his insolvency work, Steve developed and founded Heller’s small, asset-based group; was a member of Heller’s five-month restructure project that lead to the combination of three business groups (representing over $2 billion in funds employed); and participated on two due-diligence teams that represented key acquisitions for Fremont Financial.  Prior to his asset-focused lending, he underwrote and managed cash-flow transactions for GE Capital dating back to 1984.

Steve is a Certified Insolvency Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), was a Past President of the Commercial Finance Association - Midwest Chapter, and has an accounting degree from Northern Illinois University.
